A Taste of Aarhus Festival
In addition to cultural events and lots of fun activities in the city, Aarhus Festival is all about culinary experiences, introducing your palate to new sensations, and exploring cuisine from all over the world. Whether you prefer Syrian street food or sustainably prepared hamburgers, there are tons of options available this year.
The pop-up restaurant 'Festival Grill and Eatery' at FO-byen is run by Mefisto and designed by IKEA Aarhus. Here you can enjoy a delicious meal while experiencing the famous Aarhus Festival atmosphere. Order a special Festival Salmon-plate or a Festival Burger. Both are served in an IKEA lunchbox, which you can bring home with you. The pop-up restaurant is open between noon and 9 p.m. until Saturday.
During the week of the Aarhus Festival, Officerspladsen has become ‘The Officer’s Street Food’. Eight food stands offer varied cuisine from all over the world. Try everything from sushi and fish ‘n’ chips to Syrian food prepared by refugees. The ‘Officer’s Street Food’ is open between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. until Saturday. On Sunday, the restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Throughout the week of the Festival, there will be plenty of opportunities to experience different culinary events. The main event of the weekend is the Food Festival, but there are also plenty of pop-ups and food stands at Kulbroen, Cluster Square, and Inversus Festival. Bon appétit!
