Lots of Free Events at Aarhus Festival
No money, no problem! There are plenty of fun and free experiences to be had at this year’s Aarhus Festival. In fact most of the events offer free admission!
Four out of five events at Aarhus Festival either offer admission completely free of charge or an alternate free version of the event. This coming weekend, ‘Understrøm’, a two-day music festival within the Festival offers free access to three stages along the river and at Dokk1, where bands and artist will perform all day and into the night. The festival is the result of a collaborative effort between Aarhus Festival and some of the most prominent concert bookers in Aarhus including SPOT Festival, Mono Goes Metal, Oppenheimer and others.
At Mølleparken, the ‘City Stage’ is already offering free concerts. The Aarhus Music School and the Rhytmic Music Conservatory will be performing until Wednesday of this week completely free of charge.
On Saturday, September 3, in honor of Erik Satie’s 150th birthday, the composer’s avant-garde piece ‘Vexations’ will be performed at Aarhus Festival. The piece is one minute long but will be performed 840 times by rotating cast of musicians, who will interpret the piece differently over the course of the 14 hour long concert.
