In a time when humanity is shaken by evil, it is cowardly to turn away from the unpleasant and painful. That is what the two cabaret groups, Ukrainian Dakh Daughters and British The Tiger Lillies, believe.
But what are we to do then? We must be able to laugh at this damn stupid life! And that is exactly what the two cabaret groups do together with the audience in the magnificent musical show 'Stupid Life'.
Laugh and live
More than two years after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the war is unfortunately still very topical. In a powerfully visual and emotionally uplifting show, Dakh Daughters and The Tiger Lillies seek answers to questions about freedom and democracy with ‘Stupid Life’, while the stage overflows with boundary-pushing and gallows-humorous performance and song.
Throughout time, satire and comedy have played an important role when war and evil flare up. As an eternal weapon and protection against senseless violence. As a way out of madness. ‘Stupid Life’ is part of this important tradition with its beautiful but difficult message: Keep living and laughing – even when evil shakes our world.
The performance will be performed in Ukrainian, English, German and French with subtitles in English.
